Humanities is "feminine," so those of us who studied it are expected to accept that it's on us to read widely, whereas STEM is "masculinized," which means humanities has to do all that work for them

One effect of the gendered split in the US political imagination, in which liberals are feminized and conservatives are masculinized, is that liberals’ opposition to the right is cast as disavowed sexual desire. Liberals secretly want fascism, in this view, the same way women secretly want rape.

Yeah this is why I don't think it's useful to say cis WOC (we DO get degendered/masculinized) are 'transmisogyny-affected'.
Explicit separation of degendering and transmisogyny is such an incredibly important tool for good transfeminism - Both for countering the tendency to say that anyone who's ever been degendered has epistemic authority on transmisogyny, and for recognising the real shared pattern at work underneath

I guess they get confused because I'm transmasc so they assume I try to be hyper masculine regardless but it's just weird being told I naturally pass when that has to do with black features and black queers in general being hyper masculinized.

I honestly think the direct line between misogyny and fascism is undersold. It is THE big factor - as soon as one race/class/group is masculinized and another is feminized in an ideology, it leads to fascism.

For the record, I don't hate Hasan. He's not for me, and I certainly have issues with his combative style, but frankly that's not exclusive to him but an issue of the very aggressive us v them hyper-competitive masculinized livestreaming political space.

Drawing on my higher ed context, you saw same reaction to DEI. some of these offices were embedded in the university’s compliance Structure. Every became de facto hr jobs. lot of men in masculinized disciplines like science were newly subjected to female authority through DEI offices
