Our Community Champions have just met in the Cairngorms for 2 days of walks, learning and celebrations of their achievements.

The fab volunteers walked at Loch Morlich and Meall a' Bhuachaille with our president Chris Lawlor, practised night navigation and had a remarkable encounter with a Wildcat!

The first pic is of the single track road leading back to our house with the Graham, Meall Blair (Gaelic for "Field Hill") in the distance. The next one is of Sgurr Mhurlagain which is Gaelic for "Rough Topped Peak."

I met some dear, deer friends out walking and shot a bokeh pic of a bracket fungous growing on an old, dead tree. The last pic are the Corbetts Ben Tee and Meall a-Choire Ghlaiss with Loch Poulary in the foreground.

Alexander climbed his first Munro today. ❤️ 🏔️ Meall nan Tarmachan. It means ‘hill of the ptarmigan’. The ‘p’ is silent. Silly but ptrue

Whilst bog hopping, I ran across this lovely hind! #2 is Druim na h-Achlaise, a favourite place to hike with a picnic lunch. #3 is Allt a-Ghobhar, Gaelic for "The Goat Burn." and lastly is Ben Tee and Meall a-Choire Ghlaiss with Loch Poulary in the foreground.

Ode to This Wonderful Brain Oh, wonderful, complicated brain of mine—you strange little universefolded quietly inside my skull. You have carried thingsI never thought a person should have to carry, and somehow, you knew not to hand them to meall at once. You tucked pieces…

Survived the wind and all the slipping in the mud (and the rain never came, thankfully). A bonus 11th Munro of the year is climbed at last. Sgulaird Of The Manor! #BeinnSgulaird #MunroBagging @walkhighlands.co.uk

Melgarve East Bridge. Built in 1750 as part of General Wade's road over Corrieyairick Pass. Strathspey below Meall a' Chùit. Found on a strangely arduous 14.5 mile walk. Still recovering. #walking #Scotland #photography power lines removed from image
