Tofy Mussivand spent 30 years as the chair and director of the Cardiovascular Devices Program at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Katharina Breininger has been a professor of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging, an endowed professorship of Siemens Healthcare at the new Department of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering, since 1 November. As part of her doctoral thesis in collaboration with Advanced Therapies, Siemens Healthcare GmbH, she worked on a method that should benefit many patients suffering from an aortic aneurysm, i.e. a dilatation of the aorta. Katharina Breininger has already received various awards for her work, including a Young Scientist Award at this year's Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Interventions (MICCAI), one of the most important conferences in the field of medical image processing. With her focus on digital health, she inspires young founders, students and other young researchers as well as established colleagues and partners from business, society and politics. November als Professorin für Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging, einer Stiftungsprofessur von Siemens Healthcare am neuen Department Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering. Im Rahmen ihrer Doktorarbeit in Kollaboration mit Advanced Therapies, Siemens Healthcare GmbH arbeitete sie an einer Methode, die vielen Patientinnen und Patienten zugutekommen soll, die an einem Aortenaneurysma, also einer Erweiterung der Aorta leiden. Für ihre Arbeiten hat Katharina Breininger schon diverse Auszeichnungen bekommen, unter anderem einen Young Scientist Award diesjährigen Konferenz für Medical Image Computing und Computer Assisted Interventions (MICCAI), einer der wichtigsten Konferenzen im Bereich der medizinischen Bildverarbeitung. Sie inspiriert mit ihrem Fokus auf Digital Health gleichermaßen junge Gründerinnen und Gründer, Studierende, andere Nachwuchsforscherinnen und -forscher, aber auch die etablierten Kolleginnen und Kollegen sowie Partner aus Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft und Politik.
