Two new solar records today in Texas/ERCOT:

🏆 first time over 30,000 megawatts
☀️first time over 58% of supply

Quite the progression:

2015: 500 megawatts
2017: 1,000 megawatts
2021: 5,000 megawatts
2022: 10,000 megawatts
2024: 15,000 megawatts
Feb. 2026: 30,000 megawatts!!

California just cemented our status as home to the strongest battery energy storage system in America with 21,000+ megawatts plugged into our power grid.

We're powering the fourth-largest economy with clean energy that lasts long after the sun goes down.

NEW LAW IN OKLAHOMA
Data Centers Can't Pass Their Energy Costs to Consumers

The law requires large-load customers adding 75 megawatts or more of demand to sign long-term agreements covering infrastructure costs tied to their projects, rather than spreading those costs across the general rate base.
June 15, 2026 at 4:56 PM
The law, sponsored by Sen. Brent Taylor (R-Memphis) and Rep. Ed Butler (R-Rickman), requires data centers that have a peak demand of at least 50 megawatts of electricity during the first 3 years of operation to pay for their own electricity infrastructure so ratepayers aren’t stuck with the bill.

California is about to 100% replace coal from our state's energy supply.

The 30,000+ megawatts in new clean energy and storage we've added since 2019 is now powering about half of our peak electricity demand.

While Trump bets on the past, California is shaping the future.

WOW! California battery storage capacity has grown from less than 700 megawatts (MW) at the beginning of 2019 to more than 21,000 MW by mid-2026 — thanks to investments and prioritization by @governor.ca.gov Gavin Newsom!

That has led to NO FLEX ALERT being issued in the Golden State in 4 years!

A new battery record in ERCOT! 5,970 megawatts. Beat the old one by nearly 400 megawatts. This is great for the Texas grid & for consumers. It's a fully dispatchable, flexible resource ready to go during times of scarcity. Batteries are changing the grid for the better.

There's a new solar record in Texas, first time over 29,000 megawatts.

Demand is already above 80,000 megawatts and will likely be there for several hours today and the next couple days.

New battery record set last night at 6,300 megawatts will likely soon be broken.

Today, solar crossed 26,000 megawatts for the first time ever, meeting >56% (!) of demand (also a record). Previous solar record was exceeded by 1,316 megawatts. Earlier this week wind & solar combined for 39,946 megawatts,, nearly 1,000 megawatts more than the previous record.

Batteries shattered the record in ERCOT today w/ over 5,500 megawatts, meeting 10.3% of power demand. Previous record was less than 5,000 megawatts. There were well over 25,000 megawatts of gas and coal plants offline today. Batteries are keeping us out of energy emergencies.

NEW: California now has nearly 17,000 megawatts of battery storage – reaching one-third of the way to our 2045 goal.

We're deploying more battery storage than any state in America, building a stronger grid, cutting pollution, and securing a safer future for our nation.

Demand near 76,000 megawatts in ERCOT today with over 16,000 megawatts-worth of gas & coal plants offline. About 94% of those thermal outages are unplanned.

No energy emergencies or scarcity as solar & wind are meeting more than 50% of peak demand.
