#MetaComics
Here’s a delightfully metacomics page (I really love the guy’s work, and you should check out his Aïvali, which is published in English. In the meantime, you will find this page translated in the alt text)

I’m late to the party but I’m sitting down now with Cat Kid Comic Club and Dav Pilkey is working on a level of metacomics the rest of us mere mortals can only dream of. #WeReadsComics

In fairness it's just a one page thing but yeah it's all quite basic metacomics stuff. I think Muñoz is an underrated formalist but he never goes too wild, he's always been in line with guys like Hergé, Lutes and Jason with subtler stuff

On a serious note, this book was groundbreaking. Morrison explored themes of storytelling, existence, and what it means to be forgotten. Some parts dragged, but moments like Buddy realizing his whole life was controlled by a writer? Wow.

And then they just left Buddy alone in blankness like, “Welp, I’m out.” But hey, at least they brought his family back. Still, this whole run feels like Morrison was bored with Animal Man as a superhero and decided to make it a protest piece instead.

Gremlins! Bought this Gold Key comicbook when I was a lad; disappointed, upon getting it home for a reading, it wasn't "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" adapted into comics, but delighted at what turned out to be an early 'metacomics' narrative & art experience in four-color mainstream comics.
