Nobody will ever forget that MetaThreads had the user base to totally displace Twitter as Elon weaponized it into a pro-Trump machine, but chose to make it dysfunctional for breaking news & reporters.

Bluesky simply was not equipped to ramp up that quickly back then, but MetaThreads was, and they chose not to create a legitimate Twitter alternative. It had to be a Zuckerberg political decision. It was clearly a stupid biz decision.
