I’m thinking of switching from the Raspberry Pi Pico 2W to the ESP32-S3 N16R8 for my #CircuitPython #maker class. Any reason not to? Audio requires a DAC & more wiring but otherwise seems like a good choice. Any info on forthcoming Raspberry Pi microcontroller boards?

They're teeny tiny computers where folks can plop code onto and do things with it(like driving motors, blinking LEDs, presenting something on a display, etc). If you've heard of these, esp32, arduino Uno, etc are development boards for microcontroller families. Also, please follow @ap.brid.gy

Future versions could be done with an Adafruit Propmaker RP2040 Feather microcontroller (that has a built-in NeoPixel controller) and a battery.
That was the set-up used in my Area 51 Project (and slated for my C-57D Project).

Replacing the second Mini-Button with a NeoPixel stick might work for lighting longer warp nacelles. But, first things first.
