reminds me of covering Ed M in the run-up to 2015. His team were weirded out when my BuzzFeed colleague found this teen 'Milifandom' thing. They were terrified of how the papers would react to showing him being a bit authentically... odd/kooky. Now we can just say 'obvs TikTok is true mass media'.
