"I tell my students they can never use LLMs for anything and they're frauds if they do" is the modern equivalent of "I only teach my students to use Stata/SPSS for statistics"
Let's be realistic, these tools aren't going anywhere and if your position is "you should never use LLMs fir anything and you're a fraud if you do," all you're doing is failing your students, mentees, and junior colleagues.

uni got a minitab license for allllll the computers in every room in the university where 90% of them go unused day to day but couldn't be bothered to expand the license so people could access it on home devices through their uni email... ok then 💀

They have an independent project, but they only need to collect 20 data points for an experiment of their choosing. The last 5 weeks of the course, most of the hw worksheets revolve around their Independent Project.
Truly what am I missing here? We learned miniTab and then RStudio when I was in UG.

They have an independent project, but they only need to collect 20 data points for an experiment of their choosing. The last 5 weeks of the course, most of the hw worksheets revolve around their Independent Project.

Punched cards, at first, but because I was later using Minitab & SPSS, I was sometimes allowed to use a glass Teletype connected to the ICL 2966, upstairs, by damp string.

During my bachelor studies in statistics (2014-2015) we used Minitab (which is so much better than SPSS), Eviews (wtf), and SAS. Then SAS and R in my master studies. Today I work as a research-supporting statistician, primarily within medical science, which unfortunately means being exposed to SPSS
