Since we are seeing it exploding all around us, i will continue to talk about the deep misopedia that pervades our society. It’s a pet interest of mine as an #adoptee.
the language we use to talk about children is *drenched* in sentimentality and *completely devoid* of basic respect for their dignity and worth.

"Parents' rights" is a euphemism for paternalistic epistemic injustice, control and surveillance of children and youth and reinforcements of misopedia/misopedy/adultism on a systemic level.

i believe that at the root of both the disregard for adopted people’s identity rights and the denial of the right of trans people to exist are cisheteronormativity, patriarchy, and misopedia. A lot of syllables, but in essence a strict gendered hierarchy.

there's an interconnection between misanthropy, misopedia and eugenics and I think we ought to question that, even in left-leaning spaces.

I generally only see ‘children are an oppressed class’ or ‘children are vulnerable’ which are very true and important to say. Hopefully systemic/societal misopedia can be more clearly analyzed and addressed.

The porn industry is certainly worthy of heavy criticism, especially for its participation in rape trafficking and creating/spreading child sexual abuse material, but the blame falls on systemic misogyny, misopedia, rape culture and our patriarchal society, not 'porn addiction'.

It's awfully similar to "bigotry is a mental illness" in that regard. Distracting from the conscious decisions and systemic issues behind abuse and harmful rhetoric to instead blame a marginalised group (because yes children, boys included, are oppressed by patriarchy/misopedia).

The whole "I was here first and am therefore leader etc" thing always rubbed me the wrong way regardless of context but IDK how to word it really besides calling it ageism and misopedia (youth oppression). "Respect [obey] your elders" is kind of a culmination of it.
