"Claude, who are the Moluccans?"

There's a cockatoo rescue/sanctuary that I can't remember the name of, but they have aviaries for each species. Some of the interesting data they've gathered is the amount of personal space each species tends to prefer. I think most want between about .5-2 ft, but Moluccans want *none*.

Not in France, but there actually has been for Moluccans in the Netherlands. French nationality law seems better for sure (and I'm aware that things are different depending on country)

Beautiful #mural in the little Dutch village of #Foxhol.
A tribute to 75 years of #Moluccans in the #Netherlands and #Foxhol. #Foxhol has a large #Moluccan community.
#Diversity and #potatoes.
#Avebe, a large potato processing company has a factory in the village for over a 100 years.

It's very hilarious that the Indonesian president talks about unity & preventing division when his own words & actions:

- Outcasts religious minorities
- Outcasts LGBTQ+ people
- Degrades Moluccans & Papuans
- Forces total submission from the people

Indonesians only need to understand that by saying "Londo Ireng", they are implicitly outcasting & degrading the status of Moluccans & Eastern Indonesians. This is why there's always growing separatist sentiment in Papua & Maluku, i.e., "Orang Jawa tidak peduli dengan kita."

Indonesia's president has now used a full racial slur to describe journalists & NGOs. "Londo Ireng" means "Black Dutchies", a term used by locals in the 1940's to describe Moluccans who fought w/ the Dutch. It's now used as a general slur for black-skinned Indonesians

That's a Moluccan Cockatoo. Pretty weird it's been placed near an owl.

At the parrot shelter where I volunteered the Moluccans were a challenging species, hard to find appropriate homes for. High intelligence and difficult vocals/strong bird. Some committed 'parronts' do manage it and love them.
