GOP ad buyer mixes up Portlands, spends money meant to help Maine Sen. Susan Collins in Oregon

The PAC boosting Collins is "absolutely furious" at the "ridiculous error" made by the buyer, which takes blame and has refunded the money.

GOP ad buyer mixes up Portlands, spends money meant to help Maine Sen. Susan Collins in Oregon
An outside group mistakenly spent nearly $25,000 to boost Collins in Portland, Oregon, rather than Portland, Maine. The buyer admitted to the error and refunded the PAC.

There’s one on Foster, almost in D1, almost certainly wasting more money than they pay in the MultCo taxes they blame on DSA.

Maybe business policies and taxes aren’t the problem, and these failsons just suck at managing money, marketing, and the basics of business.

Annie Ellison tried to stop me from getting into Emerge Oregon, a program that teaches women to run for office. When I got in anyway she told me to stop talking about police accountability and the rights of the unhoused because “those aren’t popular issues anymore.”

Mitch still hasn't hit tier 3 yet and probably has the tightest race. Nathan Norris for Multco D2 could use money too!

Do my political fellow travelers oppose Sharon Meieran and if so why? Shannon Singleton hasn’t lit my fire, but maybe she’s great. I don’t know yet. For MultCo Chair I’m going to want independence from entrenched interests, initiative/fearlessness, competence, and accountability.

This is the MultCo archive. The UofO archives only go up to 1922 (this article is from 1927) and I haven't had a chance to get down to the historical society yet.

Really too kind. I just saw the disclosure and having worked on co-writing and passing these laws (HB4024 that included 260.402(2) and the PDX and Multco disclosure laws), I immediately knew it wasn't compliant. So I just started scouring and documenting (with help of my software background).

In my mind, a return to work for MultCo workers doesn't make much sense.

Most of them aren't downtown, so there isn't a 'central city revitalization' angle here.

JVP is basically just mandating a bunch of civil servants consume gas during a combination energy/climate crisis.

Dumb question: is this in coordination with MultCo Elections &/or OR Sec of State or an entirely independent activity?

On the health aspect: "This is ultimately a health policy. Gas appliances in homes and buildings pollute the air indoors and out. In MultCo, building gas use is estimated to produce about three-quarters of the nitrogen oxide pollution of a gas-powered plant."

We have a new policy at the Multco where the cost is automatically assigned to the lowest classification of job who can do the task, regardless if they are doing it or not.

Working down the account payable. Same w/ fix MultCo. Big spender is Swickard, no surprise. Someone should investigate how he used a low $ purchase to compress his tax liability, but then funnels tens of millions back to the seller through property management fees of the same property.
October 3, 2026 at 7:23 PM
That's awesome! I mean, I really don't mind paying some fees because that's the law. I just don't get public servants who feel like obstacles to records is their job.

Gaia bless agencies like MultCo who approach records with nothing to hide.

Filing reports from the "GoPDX" PAC show the direct link between the business-led United for Portland PAC and a trio of new independent expenditures (GoPDX, Ditch Mitch & fix multco).

These are the PACs behind a grip of billboards bashing Councilor Green / supporting Commissioner Brim-Edwards.

Kyle Prosen’s PACs (DitchMitch, fix multCo, and goPDX) finally reported some transactions to ORESTAR, filed last night at midnight. United For Portland Action Fund gave $100,000 to goPDX, which then ~likely~ funneled $50,000 each to DitchMitch and fix multCo.
