Multivariate model: multiple dependent variables.
So commonly, my dear colleagues and students, you say multivariate when you mean multivariable.

If you are analyzing clinical data, you almost certainty don't need a multivariable model unless you are building a prognostic model or asking causal questions. Statistics shouldn't be a performance.

A note to myself in 2019 when the world was less… everything: “A modern treatment of multivariable calculus should be informed by tensors and differential forms, without necessarily developing the full theory of either.” From what could become the most insufferable multivariable calculus notes ever.
