And it's Week 5 in our crowdfunder! Donations are slowly coming in but we would love it if you would share, share, share! This week's history lesson is on how nuns had fun, with lovely video spots from Kristiina Watt, Victoria Couper, Yvonne Eddy, and Elspeth Piggott. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fhQ...

Erika with a #MusicalBookHistoryMystery post?! Nature is healing! 🤩 Grab some popcorn and start reading.
Delighted to have contributed to this book on the diverse and sometimes peculiar ways religious brotherhoods made and sponsored music in 16th- and 17th-century Europe. Hugely indebted to Tess Knighton, who headed up the Confrasound research team. brill.com/edcollbook/t... 1/

How excited am I for this album?

So excited that I am planning to purchase a CD player, because I want the physical CD.

You should be excited and pre-order the album too!

Here goes... Who's up for a 17th-century #MusicalBookHistoryMystery of the most obscure sort?

We've got swords! We've got motets! We've got double attributions & generic obsessions in a confusing index! We've got a heroic librarian! We've got Franciscan Habit t-shirts (uhhhhh)! 5/

Not content with that, he sets up a printer back home(-ish) in Oslavany, and finds an Italian music theorist to teach another 9 students there. If they need music, why, he'll just print it for them. And that's where our #MusicalBookHistoryMystery comes in. 15/
