Why is that important: Well, because Prof. Appleby claimed in his hastily compiled report that there was no evidence to support claims that there was a significant increase in suicides among trans people. These reports clearly show that there was. @goodlawproject.org @goodlawproject.bsky.social

#UK #Transrights I was looking at the reports of the NCISH National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health. And well, something stands out when I compare the reports for 2023 and 2025. They both report on suicides in the LGBTQ+ community with an overlapping period.

An important new development at NCISH. We are resuming detailed data collection into patient homicide. This programme will expand on the national homicide inquiry that ended in 2018. We plan to explore new questions, additional methodologies & work closely with affected families.
