Tip: I put new projects in a folder called "new_project." Then I drag that folder to my desktop when I want to back up until I get to "new_project copy copy copy." Then I rename it "main_project," put the rest in "old_project," and restart. I think they call it version control. I hope that helps.

I was stuck trying to duplicate an old project into a new one from GitHub. Here are the steps I found useful:
cp -r old_project new_project
cd new project
git clone <new project url>
git remote remove origin
git remote add origin <new project url>
git push -u origin main

"I hit my rock bottom" except it is me having to make a new folder for my project's code called "new_project" because the old one is cooked
