At 125 MHz, benchtop NMR shows how the chiral center in (4S)-4-(propan-2-yl)-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one induces nonequivalence in nearby protons, producing diastereotopic splitting. As an Evans-type chiral auxiliary, it directs enolate geometry in asymmetric synthesis.🧪

We name most of the equipment at lab. My groups NMRs are mountains (Tava, Bokan, Hood, Baker, Shasta, Glacier). Another groups are Star Wars (Solo, Chewie, BB8, etc). The HPLCs are named by vendor and model series. Waters - Lord of the rings (Gimli, Smeagle, Aragorn...)...
