Do you guys think we could get the NWS and NOAA funded again? 🥹

ALL the research funding. NSF, NASA, NIH, NOAA, USGS, just throw the budget at them
Taking a second to dream.

We get tribunals for ICE. We abolish DHS. We get the NPV compact. We enshrine bodily autonomy rights - abortion, transition, everything. M4A. We do the important things.

After that.

What's something on your wishlist, that an energized dem trifecta makes happen?

It's why NOAA is in the Department of Commerce.

You know…they maybe would have seen this blue wave coming had they not defunded NOAA. 😬

Serving as a NOAA rep was a career highlight for me. A great experience.

Rebuild the forest service and other heavily impacted fed science agencies as well. In this era damn we need USFWS, USFS, NOAA, etc as well as funding for academics and industry.
I would like some effort to adress the careers and lives of people I know fucked up by illegal cutting of research funding the last two years. Put Vought on the fucking stand.

Yes!!! And some extra for all the trauma!
And funding for the National Parks

Just to start!!

As I told my bosses back at NOAA, I like to read and I like to nit-pick. (I didn't tell them I'd do it for free...but I would.)

Cold-water corals have been found at depths as great as 6000 m, but they thrive between 200 and 1000 m, along continental shelves, continental slopes, submarine canyons, and seamounts. More info here: oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/education/de...

Amazing to see the scale of #eDNA work being done by NOAA

~8000 eDNA samples
39 expeditions
28 peer reviewed pubs
Just so far in 2026!

Excited to see where this science goes

How has Arctic sea ice changed since 1979?🧊

From 1979 to 2026, September average sea-ice extent shrank by 2.24 million km².

This animation follows each year's minimum, showing how it has changed over time. Yellow marks 1979, while magenta shows 2026.
