( #NWSAlbany): July 29, 2026 was the 2nd WETTEST CALENDAR DAY on RECORD for #Albany, NY with 5.45" occurring! The DAILY RECORD missed the all-time record set by the Tropical Storm Floyd rainfall back on Sept 16, 1999 when 5.60" occurred at the Albany Airport. Daily records go back to 1974. #NYwx

This was an EXTREME EVENT with max amounts of 6-12" across the Capital District & northern parts of the mid Hudson Valley.

( #NWSAlbany): #Albany already has more #snowfall this season to date through Jan 26 (44.5") compared to ALL of last season (43.9"). The last time Albany had an above normal snowfall season was the 2017-18 winter. Normal snowfall for the ENTIRE season is 59.0" #NewYork #NYwx #wx #wxsky

Gustnado or tornado? Just found this little spin up on drone footage from 5/15/20. Added the time stamp for reference. Labeled some landmarks as well. No storm reports from that area. However, radar does show pretty good rotation. Thoughts? @NWSAlbany

So far NWS Albany has confirmed two EF1 tornadoes with yesterday’s storm. No damage was officially reported where I saw a quick spin up based on LSR/SPC reports (to my knowledge). Nonetheless, I highly recommend @NWSAlbany surveyors check out area highlighted on map.
