“An Anchor Between Worlds”

The stars grew dim
in the sky that year,
A whisper of doom
the night could hear.
The sun’s bright heart
began to fade,
As cosmic shadows
slowly played.

“A Breadcrumb Loop”

I found a trail of breadcrumbs,
neat and bright,
as though they’d planned
a grand delight.
Each crumb proclaimed,
“The truth’s this way!”
So naturally,
I spent my day.

“Somebody Has to Do It”

Somebody’s hands
must carry the weight,
Though justice is crooked
and mercy runs late.

To mirror the wound
with another sharp blade
May soothe for a second…
then deepen the shade.

“After the Curtain”

When all the painted thunder dies,
and silence takes the stage,
a stranger steps from between the lies
and turns another page.

this one is too long to share in an image with text so sharing a link to my blog. I have been told this is my best poem. I think of it as a creation myth-style narrative about obtaining wisdom.

That voice endues in the hilltop sky
I got there one day – just walked on by
our seminal crossroads crosswalk Kai.

This 3 line stanza I am thinking of using as an intro to a multipart #NarrativePoem. It used to have about 20 lines but I think it works better short.

Behind back roads of bruised arms and curvy dislocated wrists, a tiny scratch mark calls out from the back of the vehicle, begs to take the next exit, break for a large Coke with lots of ice and a slice of gas station cheese pizza. #resist #poetry #narrativepoem

“Sounded Loud”

For a week and a day
it toiled away
A message that mouthed
its beloved display

It sang from the jon
in a format so long
The message took flight
in the height it had gone

“The Ache That Knows No Name”

In chambers deep
behind my eyes,
Where nerve and memory
intertwine,
A lonely spark
begins to rise.
A wound the body
calls “divine”.

“The Problem Is Mine”

Everything’s my problem…
that’s how the line goes,
a package of thorns
wrapped neat with a bow.

It lands in my hands,
no warning, no sign,
declared with conviction:
“the problem is mine.”

“Enough of the Spin”

They sharpen words
like blades of glass,
And fling them quick,
then strut and pass.
A dodge, a smirk,
a clever grin…
But we’re not blind,
we see the spin.
