Klein says that things like lawsuits slow down progress. One example from the study I discuss in the video is that Native American tribes sued to stop a solar plant from being built on their burial grounds. The judge dismissed them bc of Obama's policy to push through clean energy projects asap.

For when sacred Native American burial grounds aren't enough...
This guy asked this question in 2016 and was literally never heard from again.

I’m half Native American; the U.S. government has been trying to eradicate us from the start.

This country is fucked right up.

I guess that’s what happens when you build a nation on ancient burial grounds & level policies to exterminate the people whose ancestors are buried at said burial grounds

The US government acknowledged for the 1st time the harms that federal dams inflicted on Native American tribes in the US Pacific NW. Dams devastated salmon runs, inundated villages, burial grounds, and deprived tribal members of the ability to exercise traditional ways of life.

Damn I just found out one of my childhood homes in Massachusetts was quite actually built on top of Native American burial grounds. I feel like I need to apologize to the Wampanoag Nation. Apparently the land developers were fully aware of this and never disclosed it to the public.

Michigan :) Mackinac Island served as sacred burial grounds also a place of gathering for fishing, trapping, and navigating the northern waterways. The name Mackinac is derived from the original Native American name interpreted by the French as Michilimackinac, meaning “Place of the Great Turtle.”

Saw someone on Twitter who claimed the hurricanes were punishment for white people disturbing native American burial grounds and called anyone who criticized them a colonizer who didn't respect indigenous spirituality (and this was not a troll they were being 100% sincere) it was fucking bizarre.
What's the bizarre take by some internet rando that you saw years ago but still think about regularly because it was just so unhinged?

Mine is the Redditor who said that all cats hate to be touched by humans and what we interpret as affection and pleasure is actually an expression of their trauma.

An excerpt from my forthcoming book: Why is that when a white person says their house is haunted b/c it was built on “sacred Native American burial grounds" they never admit the truth? “Well, my house is haunted b/c my great grandparents murdered a bunch of Natives & just left them right here.”
