La NeXT fue usaba por Tim Berner-Lee para crear el primer servidor web, que se ubicaba en el CERN.
La empresa funcionó de 1988 hasta 1997 cuando fue adquirida por Apple como parte del convenio de desarrollo de su nuevo SO (Mac OS X)

On the rightmost monitor, access to NextComputers forum has been denied, aptly at the time I was trying to figure out how to launch NeXT Cube emulator into space. This's a typical picture nowadays to be blocked by web sites obscure and not so. Now that they introduced a NAT for the entire region… Oh, here's nginx and much more in the directory listing! Security!!!!!!1
