This was my test machine for getting Openstep 4.2 working, it's a Core 2 Duo. Getting it working on the Vortex86 box was difficult as it doesn't have a floppy drive or CD-ROM. I've installed Openstep a few times, but getting a colour Video driver working was the trickiest part.

I think the closest you could get is OpenStep Window manager running in NetBSD - and would probably take quite a bit of work :D

Oh NeXT, if only hypercard had come with you, and you had used something slightly nicer than objective C.

I still dream of the OpenSTEP shell. Its so much nicer than Aqua.
