A friend pointed out that I was subconsciously mimicking this movie that is nostalgic 2 me, so I had to exploit that angle and this turned into a Whole Thing. Enjoy, I guess.

🎃 Halloweek posting continues
#Astarys Halloween costumes started as spartan warrior + classical Greek goddess vibe…but then I ended up putting wings on him, hence Nerys laughing her ass off at the cheek of him playing an angel. But then…

Does your OC have an ex + have you designed them?
Finally made Nerys’ ex from Menzo 👀 Fel’shri is a silkweaver + a menace which is ofc her type. They were together when she was young, before the urge manifested. Even once she remembers, she has no idea what happened to her 😩 #NerysOC
Fel’shri, a dark skinned drow woman with gold makeup, red eyes and a red chin stripe tattoo in the guardian armor Fel’shri side angle revealing she’s short like most drow (5’4”) and has long curly white hair ornamented with small braids, down to her knees Nerys pouting with meme text: see this watch? i got it by Crying. my car? crying. my beautiful wife? Crying. My perfect teeth? Crying. now get the fuck out of my office Nerys staring moodily into the fire

Oh, well I was just thinking about it as she’s named for a certain someone + shares some traits (woman of faith, own moral code, flies off the handle sometimes, reaches redemption w/o things wrapping up neatly). She’d hate Quark at first but end up being fond of him 😁 also Jadzia

One thing Star Trek could never do today is introduce one of its main characters as an unrepentant anticolonial terrorist, and then spend seven seasons stubbornly refusing to make her apologize for having been one. Major Kira Nerys grows enormously over Deep Space Nine. She learns that individual Cardassians aren't interchangeable. She befriends some of them. She confronts things the Bajoran Resistance did that were ugly. So the show gives her every opportunity to arrive at the comfortable conclusion you'd expect. She never does. In Season 5, a Cardassian civilian confronts Kira about a Resistance bombing that killed twelve Cardassians, including the family of the military officer who lived there. He asks whether she feels guilty, and Kira's answer is astonishing from a modern perspective: "None of you belonged on Bajor. It wasn't your world. For fifty years you raped our planet, and you killed our people. I don't care whether you held a phaser in your hand or you ironed shirts for a living. You were all guilty, and you were all legitimate targets!" Kira isn't some villain whose radicalism exists so Captain Sisko can spend the next five minutes explaining the enlightened Federation position. She's not an extremist who eventually realizes that both sides went too far. She's not even a former terrorist who has matured enough to be embarrassed by her younger self. She is the first officer of Deep Space Nine. She may be a complicated hero, but she is objectively a hero. Over the course of the series, Kira changes her understanding of people without ever fundamentally changing her understanding of power. She accepts that an innocent Cardassian doesn't deserve to die solely because he's Cardassian. But the Cardassian occupation of Bajor was maintained by an entire colonial society, not merely the soldiers holding rifles - and Kira still believes the Bajorans had the right to make that occupation unbearable.

I’ve been working on this for Nerys. Useful for thinking about fic dialogue 😁 she differs pretty drastically based on relationship.
#tavqotd #durge #NerysOC
Nerys: Negative: What. Fuck off. Blank stare, waiting with arms crossed Whatever could you want now? (If someone touches her) I wouldn't, if I were you. Neutral: Huh? Well, fancy seeing you here. I'm listening, more or less. Be quick about it. Positive: Oh, hi!! radiant smile Hello, most blessed and highly favored companion Come for a spar, or just a yap? I'd welcome either. Partnered: You were gone for so longgggg (it's been an hour or less) There you are. Kitten! Wordless ear/neck nuzzles Nevermind what I was doing... grabby hands (Astarion specific) There's my star. Depressed: Whatever it is, go ask someone else. I'm of no use to you. Attack: Come at me, I dare you. Maniacal laughter They should all be running (yeah yeah it's a good line) Stealth: clank clank clank, muffled cursing (edited)

Nerys knows there’s something weird about that elf, but due to 8 INT + more pressing concerns (a parasite squatting in her head, intrusive violent thoughts, exhaustion) she can’t quite figure it out… (this chapter brought to you by bite night being overridden by durge lol)

"I've scouted the perimeter, oh fearless leader, in deference to your concerns about foul beasties about," Astarion said, wiggling his fingers. Nerys snorted. "So nothing, then?" "Not a single, solitary sign of froghemoths or bandersnatches." She rolled her eyes as she leaned toward the cookpot, dumping a helping of watery mushroom stew into her bowl. "Not exactly what I'm afraid of." Astarion smirked, hovering over her shoulder now as she sat heavily down on a log. Shed changed into her camp clothes, leaving her neck, shoulders and midriff bare. "Well, my dear, then what are you afraid of?" His breath was oddly cool, and it sent a ripple of goosebumps down the expanse of her freckled biceps and forearms. His smirk widened at the sight, but despite the physical reaction Nerys merely looked at him out of the side of one green eye. "Well, certainly not you, despite your efforts at unnerving proximity." "Oh, darling, that's not about scaring you," he purred, ghosting his tapered fingers over her shoulder. "Can't you tell the difference?" She merely continued to stare at him, waiting. "Oh, you're no fun," he huffed, collapsing back against the same log and making it rock beneath her so she had to scramble to steady her bowl. Silence reigned for a long moment other than the spoon scraping against its bottom. "T'll keep watch tonight," she said eventually. "Make sure nothing out there bothers us." "My hero," Astarion simpered, having moved on to sharpening his dagger with a whetstone he'd produced from Sarenrae knew where. Wyll had stopped his banter with Karlach to listen in; Nerys wasn't sure for how long, but she saw those mismatched eyes trained on her across the fire. "Do you really think there's something stalking us?" he asked, voice hushed.

Oh, there’s quite a lot of shame, of course. For resist durge it’s hard to see a way out of it. It’s one of the few things Nerys doesn’t talk about openly; it burrows into her soul instead and hurts more than any physical pain ever could (her pain tolerance is very high)

We share a HC of our guy as someone who likes a juicy booty 😁
So maybe “bite me,” but could just as easily be “crybaby” if he’s feeling more spiteful…or “good girl” if he really wants her to be flustered when she finds them (bhaalspawn daddy issues, fork found in kitchen)
