Why do yall think having autism, ADD/ADHD, or some form of neurodivergence is some type of cute quirk?

I got the neurodivergence where when someone approaches me to talk (especially if i dont think im about to be spoken to) i stand there like a deer does when a car is speeding towards it

This does give her some quirks that come off as frustrating to me, like the way she looks down on prostitutes, which is not cool. And I'm happy that Jacopo spoke up about that. But the more I think of her behaviour as being rooted in neurodivergence, the more I feel I can empathize with her.

Who wants me to write about how Control: Resonant plays with the concepts of home/found family/neurodivergence/trauma through the lens of the absurd and the literal ever-shifting geography of our memories reflected in the maze that is Warped Manhattan? Asking for a me.

I'm adopted and neurodivergent. Both of my adult kids carry some of that neurodivergence, one more so than the other.

This is long overdue, but I didn't previously have the resources for a full and proper assessment. I'm not expecting any major surprises re: neurodivergence (Well, DUH!? LOL!). It will explain A LOT! But very curious about the cognitive piece and how my cracked skull messed things up.

Over the last 7 weeks I've been going through hours of an intense neuropsychological process, assessing for neurodivergence. It's been A LOT. Extra-"OOF!" factoring in my severe TBI of 2021, which made the cognitive aspect exhausting. Final assessment completed; now a bit of time for the report. 😮‍💨

You know as someone recovering from intense burnout and the pressure to compensate for neurodivergence with impressive hobbies, it's really hard to unpack my relationship to things I used to enjoy.

Doing the extremely scientific early-creator strategy known as:
“Hello internet, where are my people?” 😂
Psychology. Neurodivergence. Stories. AI skepticism. Self-awareness. Being a human's weird. Wrestling somehow snuck in. If that's your particular flavor of internet nonsense: Hi. I'm Bree. 👋

1. Michael couldn't find any info on the author, and I'm pretty sure that if I sold a million copies of a couple books on dating, I would also coast from then on.

2. Once again, every self help book is just accidentally recognizing neurodivergence and applying it way too broadly.

his flavor of neurodivergence has made it hard for him to think on his feet and speak up around people he doesn't know, we've had to do a lot of practice about how to talk to adults when not with me. But it's always been his choice.

Do autists have a bottom-up thinking style? I don't think I do. I don't do top-down either, I do both, where appropriate, and 'middle-out' thinking too. I couldn't've been a successful software designer otherwise.

You know what's fucked? In parts of Scotland it's actually easier to get neurodivergence diagnoses as an adult than it is as a child. My wife and I got referred to a psychiatrist (same psych, 10 years apart) who signed off on a diagnosis there and then. Our daughter? After years of waiting we got

All the 'perfect people' in the replies mocking , dont have any idiosyncratic tendancies.. proof unequivocal not everyone understands neurodivergence on any level.

It's couched in a lot of therapy speak and armchair body language "experts" who watched too much true crime and attribute normal traits of neurodivergence as malicious or narcissistic
