Like in Dioura, Niono area and Sevare, and frankly many more locations - 150 to 200 dead on Malian side, 20-30 Russian with mamy additional wounded (we don't know the exact numbers and can’t). Over 100 prisoners. Disaster.

Seven Russian soldiers were killed by JNIM in the north of Niono today, in what is a part of the great scramble for Central Mali this month. In recent few weeks, JNIM has been pounding Russians and the regime forces every day - massive casualties of Bamako side.

On July 12, Malian government forces and the Russian African Corps were ambushed east of Niono in the Segou region by Tuareg fighters from FLA and the Al-Qaeda affiliate JNIM. The exact number of casualties is currently unknown.

I think its probably misreporting, or mixing composition of convoy for Anefis to some other ambushed one. There were multiple ambushes :
