#NoSQL
Strictly speaking I was hired at my current job as the NoSQL DBA but there has always been some overlap with me and the SQL DBA and there is the argument PostgreSQL is actually NoSQL

… interesting that Bluesky uses RDS over nosql

What is already super nice is this stores to disk. Too many NoSQL DBs are purely in-memory, and after the memory load I had from Obsidian, I want to sidestep that very much.

i would add the search system on their site is also vibecoded and almost certainly isn't data-sanitized in any way that matters (validation, paramqueries, encoding type, middlewae, etc) so sqli, nosql, xss would probably work

The columnar NoSQL storage pattern, combined with secondary indices, means you get relational data co-location (fast reads), multiple lookup patterns, and eventually consistent fast writes.

Not every app needs those, but it can support any kind of data model without leaving you high and dry.

It's not even like it's a hard no I just still don't know what "NoSQL" is and when I would prefer it over Postgres, especially since afaict the vast majority of my use cases are handled perfectly fine by relational data, most data is relational!

Normally ignore adverts but this week every 20 mins i'm getting ads for DataGrip AND I don't skip it - I think I have found my perfect geek advert "DataGrip is a cross-platform IDE supporting over 50 SQL and NoSQL databases" "WHAT A SQL" the tagline how I laughed , each time ,I need a holiday

MongoDB became popular by doing essentially the 2010's equivalent of this. Rigor is as much as anything else about accurately conveying what you think you know and why. The problem isn't that AI wrote it, it's that you misrepresented it as more trustworthy than it is.

The Marketing Behind MongoDB
Countless NoSQL databases competed to be the database of choice. MongoDB's marketing strategy helped it become the winner.

DynamoDBFirestoreMongoDB etc..
