One of the big important elements in soulsbornes is that on a second playthrough, the nonlinearity of the world allows you to enter places way earlier than normal. To rush for a weapon or upgrade stuff early, if you can survive to do it.

it doesn't work without the nonlinearity! all of the rotation / stretching / whatever is only so you can put the activations through the dissipative operations in the nonlinearities, because otherwise you cannot converge to a manifold of lower dimension than the model in finite time / condition.
