(Cont.) Nopperabo tends to come up when talking about Slender Man as a way of making him sound more universal. It’s very possible that the writers/artists found out about nopperabo that way and that’s why their version looks like a ghostly Slender Man rather than random people without faces.

(Cont.) Misrepresenting nopperabo isn’t a huge deal but it does make me sad that American audiences could be missing out on the authentic flavor of Japanese folklore.
