Two of only 70 reproductive females remaining on earth!

They are North Atlantic right whales and potential mothers.

Let’s keep them safe while in Florida by slowing our boats down and keeping a lookout.

No dorsal = easy to hit.

Update: Another loss for environmental protections. The House passed H.R. 9436, also known as the Northeast Lobsterman Protection Act, delays federal conservation protections for the critically endangered North Atlantic right whales until 2035. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #NorthAtlanticrightwhale

🐋 New study
Do right whales use very shallow coastal waters (<20 fathoms)?
In southern Gaspé, 6 years of surveys found none. A small but useful piece of the puzzle for understanding coastal habitat use.

ANOTHER.

(I give no kudos to NOAA as I am presently mad at them for not pushing mandatory slow zones and other #NARW things)

And there's another dead #rightwhale, off Georgia.

Kudos to NOAA for releasing this information quickly

In January, Ghost (#1515), a critically endangered #NorthAtlanticRightWhale, was spotted swimming with her newborn calf off Flagler Beach, FL. 👻🐋

With less than 360 right whales remaining, every mom + calf matters.

New estimates reveal that the #NorthAtlanticRightWhale population has increased—proving their resilience.

With just ~384 remaining, we can’t let Congress threaten one of the only laws protecting them.
