It crosses the Western Sahara. This freight train travels 700 kilometers, from the city of Zouerate to the coastal town of Nouadhibou, transporting up to 20,000 tons of iron ore in a convoy that can measure nearly 3 kilometers.

We went to the train station to try to get the train to Choum but apparently it doesn't run today; we were advised to come back tomorrow.

We went to the train station to try to get the train to Choum but apparently it doesn't run today; we were advised to come back tomorrow.
Everything from Berlin to the Mauritanian border was straightforward to look up/book online with DB, SNCF, RENFE, ONCF, Supratours etc. This Guerguerat-Nouadibhou minibus is the first exception (though we bought tickets back in Laayoune). Things will likely be less predictable from here on.
