Indiana's state motto is "Crossroads of America." It's basically self-identifying as a kind of purgatory.
In folklore, crossroads may represent a location "between the worlds" and, as such, a site where supernatural spirits can be contacted and paranormal events can take place. Symbolically, it can mean a locality where two realms touch and therefore represents liminality, a place literally "neither here nor there", "betwixt and between".

Dyed the panels of Chapel Perilous, the chaos magick temple for #operationoctarine

They came out with some wonderful textures from the dyeing process. I wish I had time to scry with them, but had to pack it in before it stormed.

The chaos magick temple for #operationoctarine, Chapel Perilous, is coming together. The central pillar is a hollow chimney. Sigils may be written publicly upon its surface or slipped between the boards to rest inside.

Next comes the base, shelf, and crown.

I’ll be accepting sigils and other ‘attacks’ via messages and other contact options listed in the linked Google Doc until around 12PM EDT on Saturday, 9/26 […]

Many of my friends have children who they are raising with a witchy perspective. I cherish their curiosity and fresh insight, but sometimes, you just want to wallow in the spring of experience that only an older crowd can bring.

Safety and accountability is extremely important to us behind O∴O∴—we feel that by requiring attendees to be at least 21, we can foster a mature, informed environment where we can allow ourselves to be vulnerable with our magic and each other.

#operationoctarine #chaosky #occultsky #witchsky
On a drippy, multicolor, opalescent background, black text on translucent white text boxes read: ‘Why is O∴O∴ a 21+ event?’ ‘We have decided to age restrict Operation Octarine for a few reasons including but not limited to: the likelihood of alcohol being on the grounds; rituals and presentations that may deal with mature themes and/or ritual nudity; and Midian’s history of being a sex-positive, clothing optional venue.’ There is a black geometric logo centered towards the bottom of the graphic.

Yep! I got the color panels figured out. I need to finish six more like this and dye them for the colors of chaos magick for the temple at #operationoctarine. The eighth side, for octarine itself, will be the entrance.

We have an opportunity here not only to crush the idea that chaos magicians are sloppy practitioners but to push the movement past only being about ‘results-based magic’.

On a dreamy, blurry blue-green background, black text on translucent white text boxes read: ‘WHAT IS CHAOS MAGIC? We view chaos magic as being at the intersection of postmodernism and occult practice. Rather than being a set of practices or beliefs, chaos magic emphasizes that the best approach emerges from imagination and adaptability. The chaos magician paradigm shifts, adopting different techniques and viewpoints based on personal preference and whatever goal they wish to manifest. Chaos magic may frame an approach to traditional systems of practice or new innovations and personal system building. It can range from techniques of raw communication with the unconscious mind to complex, eclectic magical models adapted from popular culture.’

There is a geometric schematic-like drawing of a pillar on a white background. To the right of the drawing reads this quote from Robert Anton Wilson’s ‘Cosmic Trigger’ in black text: “Every thing you fear is waiting with slavering jaws in Chapel Perilous, but if you are armed with the wand of intuition, the cup of sympathy, the sword of reason and the pentacle of valor, you will find there (the legends say) the Medicine of Metals, the Elixir of Life, the Philosopher’s Stone, True Wisdom and Perfect Happiness.” On the bottom right of the graphic, there is a geometric logo and the web address OperationOctarine.org
