Another example of how our European forest disturbance data can be integrated in conservation research: colleagues from @au.dk (Aarhus Uni) mapped high conservation value forests in Denmark and analysed the rates of disturbance therein (very low!):

The first ruling dynasty of Poland, the Piasts, used hillfort strongholds to expand their influence across Poland and they were likely places of thriving trade.

This is work in progress and it will take a while to finish it but I find the process relaxing -- orthophoto of a mountainside in Utah, near Escalante, showing a deflation surface (I think) in the cross bedded Navajo Sandstone. Roughly a strike section relative to the dominant wind direction. ⚒️

One area of Columbia Heights has seen repeated flood losses. This is low ground, along a buried tributary of Piney Branch, which shows up in the 1892 USC&GS topo maps.

In Kovacs v Maple Ridge and Belusic v Victoria, the HRT required the redesign of cycling facilities because they adjudged that they didn't properly mitigate conflict with blind transit users. Unfortunately in the former case, the MUP and e-feet were just eradicated and replaced with a dismount sign.
