It’s been a shit few days here at #COP30 so when I got the pānui that my iwi are taking the Crown to Court to protect our taiao and future generations it was pretty special.

A real demonstration of everything we’re preaching here - Indigenous Peoples are holding the line where states are failing!

Pānui: Tangata tiriti, look after your Māori colleagues. Had an experience today where a contractor on site heckled a Māori staff member who was putting up a display, for work, on te Tiriti (“stop ramming this down our throats”). Had a 30min ‘chat’ with him & his boss; they’re unapologetically…

Got the panui from the COVID Royal Commission of Enquiry today and started to ponder what happens if stage two reports back and it's basically the same as stage one, which said everyone made the best decisions they could in the circumstances with the information they had available to them.

Started reading 1985 nā @dominichoey.bsky.social. Lots resonates so far: drug dealing Dad; kids supervised by slightly older kids. Different city but similar vibe. Looking forward to getting further into it! #Bestie #Pānui #BookSky #Kikorangi #Skybrarian #AklSky

Do you know what our te reo Māori names mean?

Kia Māmā Mai is the te reo Māori name for Make it Easy, using "māmā" for "easy". "Kia" means "be" and "mai" means "directional, towards one".

Pānui Māmā is te reo Māori for Easy Read. "Pānui" means "read" and again "māmā" means "easy".
