Yes it's meant to persist your identity. So if you're on a PDS and it crashes, no backups, or the PDS is hacked and you can no longer access it you can use an adversarial migration to move to a new PDS with the same did and it's more or less like nothing happened. It's what pdsmoover/restore does

Yes it's meant to persist your identity. So if you're on a PDS and it crashes, no backups, or the PDS is hacked and you can no longer access it you can use an adversarial migration to move to a new PDS with the same did and it's more or less like nothing happened. It's what pdsmoover/restore does

Hadn't heard of pdsmoover, thanks. Doing it by hand inside the container sounds like exactly the kind of thing I'd put off for months, so that's good to know. Enjoy having everything under one roof.

a week ago I migrated my account, to, as you can see, @eurosky.social and its awesome now!! back to usable! :DDD
tried #PDSMoover to do it, but it for some reason didn't work in all of my browsers (firefox AND vivaldi AND duckduckgo 😐), succeeded with #EUHAUL in ~25 mins

Ironic that I decided to change PDS' again. Trying them all out to see where I want to land.

we dooo have it in the API spec but I feel like it might be out-of-scope for pdsmoover? I was thinking it makes more sense to put a "migrate your atproto account into wafrn"-tool right into wafrn instead

not quite? we have extra steps and those are covered within wafrn itself, but the moving is pdsmoover

Does anyone know what I can do to fix my missing images after moving from bsky → #blacksky ?

Two of them have had moderation appeals work out so I didn’t need to add them. Adding another I noticed someone mentioned had been suspended though just to keep an eye on it. (Now I’m wondering if pdsmoover works on suspended accts since that one is on a mushroom.)

I’ve never actually had to do an appeal before … there IS an email address you can try too but I’m temped to tag in someone. If you’re in the appeals phase you should be able to see things I think though?
Also maybe go use pdsMOOver backups on that account if you don’t have rotation keys already.

I have backups via pdsmoover, and some alt accounts on other PDS’s, but it’s served my needs fine so far so no real reason to migrate

pdsmoover has an option for getting you back on the main bsky pds, thats what i used
