I'm into Rust, Nix, Atproto, decentralized tech, and version control, and I think I may have unintentionally hit the single highest concentration of trans folks in the industry
Half my feed is about progesterone and i think I mainly got there by following or liking posts by people who are sane about AI

this is what I think when people complain about bsky growth. having a network at the scale of atproto on the table is an incredible opportunity to dream our way out of the petty feudal wars between walled gardens. atproto will evolve into the social web we need or heavily inspire the next atempt
decrying the HTTP-locked web felt like shouting into a void for a longgg time, like being the conspiracy meme.
having an alternative, even if imperfect, makes all the difference in people being able to *imagine* an internet that works differently.
feels like there's a wedge now, and it's growing.

"People's gDrives are being banned after folks uploaded years of AO3 archives on them, which is catching a lot of people by surprise and making everyone really angry" is going to be my answer to "let's put fanfics on AtProto now".
You don't want those to be AtProto PDSes, and they will be.

The atproto spaces protocol has been in alpha for close to two months now. Things are shaping up and becoming increasingly mature.
Come chat with the protocol team at Bluesky about what's working, what's not working, what you think can be improved, and what you're building!

The title doesn't suggest it, but it's again about floats on ATProto and being able to use (almost) arbitrary JSON for ATProto records. This might be the way to implement it.

If you can substitute "hungry ghost trapped in a jar" for "AI" in a sentence it's probably a valid use case for LLMs. Take "I have a bunch of hungry ghosts in jars, they mainly write SQL queries for me". Sure. Reasonable use case.
