Wish me luck - I have a big project today. I host nearly all my websites on my LisaShea server. I need to downgrade PHP8 to PHP7, then update my various UBB forums (which only run on PHP7 right now), then re-upgrade PHP7 back to PHP8. I hope each step goes smoothly! #booksky #authorcommunity

It's been brought to my attention that ComicControl isn't really being officially maintained and the main branch of it only supports PHP7 which is being end-of-lifed or something, so I switched the link to it on my links page to a fork someone made PHP8 compatible until Hiveworks touches it again 😭

間違えていたら動かないからバグがすぐに見つかる!

also if you thought you'd be clever by symlinking to the snipe-it/public folder from htdocs rather than use Alias and PHP shows segfaults like this www.linuxquestions.org/questions/sl... in /var/log/httpd/error_log, it's because of some php7 bug with symlinked directories containing .php files

PHP8.5のRFCの投票で非推奨になりそうなものを修正していたら丸1日かかってしまった。
こんな事をしてもエンドユーザーからみると新しい機能が追加されたわけでもなんでもないので、開発者が何をしたのかわからない。

일단 PHP7 시절 프로젝트라 8로 올리니 외부 라이브러리 의존성 문제가 파파박 터지네...심지어 지원 중단해서 이제 못쓰는 라이브러리도...orz
에효...2틀간 깔짝 해 보고 처음부터 다시 만드는 수준이면 걍 이건 접자고 해야겠다. 예전 로직을 재활용하는 걸 전제로 진행할 프로젝트다 보니 이 전제가 깨지면 본말전도다. 야근 좀 한다고 해결 될 레벨이 아닐 듯.

Spent all holiday converting my ancient websites from php5 to php7 because the servers they’re hosted are so EOL it’s not even funny. The old internet is decaying. Like an old house it requires upkeep and investment in time/money to maintain. Is there anyone out there writing about this bitrot?

Halbes Deutschland-Internet läuft noch auf php7.x und MySQL 5.x
Mich wundert auch nichts mehr. Die meisten hoffen hier, dass dieses Internet bald vorbei ist.

Laravel is good but jumping from PHP5 to PHP7 is a little tricky. Unlike jumping from Python 2.6 to Python 3.2, they're completely different.

Der Junge geht ja nun ans Gymnasium. Dort betreiben sie eine "Schulverwaltungssoftware" und naja, typisch deutscher Mist mal wieder, vermutlich schweineteuer.
