#PRNG
note to self, lemmas:
1) seeding the prng is fine, but we can't seed the prng because that's not how google did it
2) watermarking is always noise injection
3) noise injection always causes a problem in some cases, nonlinearly dependent on how much noise
4) you can never know what those cases are

Improving Elm PRNG
A bug is uncovered in the de facto PRNG library and alternative PRNG algorithms are suggested.

i sometimes complain about the left being useless because i would like them not to be, but your whole epistemology has to be so fucked up to be a Stalinist that your vote is pretty much a PRNG.

sheesh, a PRNG is deterministic

You wake up. It’s 2013. Some language platform has chosen to use an insecure algorithm for its random() function, and HN is blaming the numerous security flaws that resulted from this decision on individual software developers. www.zellic.io/blog/proton-...

PRNG is not random, but if you gather entropy in the system to produce and unpredictable value, then feed that to a PRNG to "smooth" it out and make it uniform random, it's still random

If it wasn't random the Internet wouldn't work

RNG, PRNG and Entropy: Why Your Softwares “Chaos” is Probably Broken

Hence, changing the PRNG from just any old PRNG to generating based on a specific "key" should be immaterial to the "quality", such as it is, of Claude output.

Hi everyone! I’m happy to announce the final release of the SplitMix64 extension for Defold - fast, but non-cryptographic PRNG. While this extension has been around for over 5 years and personally we...

1) your watermark must not be sensitive to 100% of preceding context exactly, which means you cannot simply seed the PRNG sampler, because then even one character of change breaks the watermark
2) you must therefore alter the sampled text in some way that changes what outputs are probable

Given what people are using jev for, I think I can make a faster version. Have you heard of the PRNG technique? You won't believe the speed.

One of the annoyances of JavaScript in game dev is that it doesn't supply a proper PRNG, you have Math.random() (which is unseedable and the implementation of which is "idk do whatever") and you have the similarly unseedable Crypto.getRandomValues().

⚠️ If you have ever used allkeysgenerator[.]com, ROTATE KEYS IMMEDIATELY!! ⚠️

The seed has 10-11 bits of effective entropy, and the PRNG algorithm is terrible.
