Nice surprise after checking the bank balance. It’s payday & the full CPI increase has gone onto my pension & it’s quite a bit more than I expected - I’ll take it 😃. #cpi

A tragic story of corporate greed. Capitalist parasites bought the building where an old lady had lived for 70yrs, raised her rent way above her pension, then evicted her September 23. Five days ago she died in hospital. The Rightwing in Spain thinks that's a good thing.

Price an appointment against the first case it produces and you'll quit the channel months before it pays.

Public employees work next to colleagues with the same pension and the same questions.

Got two serious job interviews to be a clerk at two different, separate third-party pension/benefits administrators

Others just blindly accepted my word on a short phone call as sufficient evidence to terminate a pension, with no demand to see a death certificate or proof of my authority to act on behalf of the deceased.

If it's like my place, nobody applied for middle-ranking jobs with the sub-co, so new senior staff are offered enhanced packages to 'compensate', whereas everybody else is stuck with a shit pension and awful working conditions while the managers make out like bandits.

Just pay his attorney fees, guarantee him his pension, and follow up on what he uncovered. He's already done his share of heavy lifting, yes?

That face tells the story
Not even a gold watch
No pension
So much has been taken from society since Reagan, Thatcher, and Mulroney stealing the social safety net for tax breaks for the rich
Trade deals
Privatization
Trickle down
You can chart the doom of the middle class from then until now
Walmart is the largest private employer in America, yet 16,055 of its employees were on Medicaid in just 6 states, and 15,515 were receiving food stamps in 9 states. Mostly red states.

And those aren’t even national totals.

Found my way to a cocktail bar that served mainly aquavit takes on standards and it was great. Also talking to european service industry folks is just a different world. Imagine being able to bartend with health insurance & a future pension.

Oh, and I see the number of senior staff earning more than £100k per annum has doubled since 2023. I wonder how many of them will get caught up in this and find their pension downgraded?

If you have a workplace pension, you probably own a slice of every FTSE 100 company.

SINK sustainability scores:
Sage 64 (top)
Average 39
Ithaca Energy 16 (bottom)

Good at counting carbon. Not at cutting it.

I had a union job with a family wage w/benefits in a blue state. Retired with Social Security and a decent Pension. Strangely, there are two Walmarts in my town of about 50k.

Eller bara att man kan få stopp på uppsägningar, samt ersättare för medarbetare som går i pension. That would be great.

Meanwhile Professor Normington gets paid £260k not including pension contributions (will she be giving up her USS pension?) and private health insurance.

Doesn’t seem entirely fair.
