An easy spin round the western levels: no sign of the Cattle Egrets down fly tip lane; Red Kite high E over Peterstone; adult Med Gull amongst 750++ (probably 1,000+) aerial feeding BH Gulls just W of Peterstone Gout; Greenshank at the gout. #gwentbirding #birdingbybike #lowcarbonbirding

A pleasent evening watching the rising tide at Peterstone, Gwent, turned a little manic in the final minutes before the mud was covered, when looking through the Redshank flock I found a Marsh Sandpiper, ooossh, County 1st!!!! Manage to relocate the bird about 45 mins later

Yesterday I wrongly claimed this bird as a Merlin, in my defense, all my other Kestrel photos have been of birds hovering above my head not at near eye level. So yes, I got a bit overexcited, this is in fact a male Kestrel. Taken at Peterstone Gout, Wentloog.🪶 #birdingwales #ukbirding
