Another good thing that came about from my unpleasant experience at the Red Cross platelet farm, aside from the donation itself, is that I now have $60 in Lyft credit to help get us back here after the Chelsea Wolfe show Monday night.

Gail A. Van Norman MD stated in her report that, in some cases, essential thrombocytopenia (a condition #ChristaPike has, involving abnormally elevated platelet count)

can lead to microvascular inflammation, making IV access more difficult.

Excellent article. Worth reading.

Makes a good point about the need for a properly functioning opposition for democracy to prosper. The current one is co platelet rudderless.

Michael Harris II! This pitch was 1.11 ft above the ground

That is the:
-3rd-lowest pitch hit for a postseason HR under tracking (2008)

-5th-lowest hit for a HR by a Braves player in reg or post in span

-lowest HR pitch of his career

Cheap, Common Drug Linked To Far Lower Dementia Risk—But Only For Some

(Researchers at Monash University, Australia, found that low-dose aspirin was associated with a 70 percent lower risk of dementia among those with specific genetics that influence platelet count)
Cheap, common drug linked to far lower dementia risk—but only for some
Aspirin could be associated with a lower risk of developing dementia among older adults with a particular set of genetics, a study found.

Since 3000 BCE, willow bark was known to have pain- and fever-reducing effects. In 1897, scientists first synthesized acetylsalicylic acid, or aspirin, from willow bark’s active ingredient.

Today, it is the most widely used drug in the world.

I read this morning (don't ask me where because I don't remember) that she asked for a firing squad (all female because she was sexually abused by men) instead of lethal injection because she has a vein and platelet condition that might have interfered with the lethal injection. Sounds like it did.

Aspirin's Cognitive Protection Is Genetically Determined by Platelet Levels
Scientists at Monash University, led by Peter Franske, have uncovered a genetic link that may determine aspirin's effectiveness in preventing cognitive decline. Their analysis of data from 13,500 participants in the ASPREE trial suggests that the protective benefits of aspirin against cognitive impairment are not universal but depend on an individual's genetic makeup. Genetic Key to Aspirin's Cognitive Benefits The research pinpointed specific genes that regulate platelet count as the crucial factor. It was found that individuals with the highest levels of these platelets, representing about 20% of the trial participants, experienced the most significant protective effect from aspirin. Over the observation period, dementia developed in just 1% of those taking aspirin, compared to 3.3% in the placebo group. This translated to a substantial relative risk reduction of nearly 70% for the aspirin group with high platelet counts. Mechanism and Alzheimer's Distinction Importantly, the genetic marker identified is not associated with genes known to cause Alzheimer's disease. The researchers hypothesize a biological mechanism where excessive platelet activity could lead to micro-clots and underlying inflammation within the brain's capillaries, contributing to cognitive impairment. Aspirin, by inhibiting platelet aggregation, may therefore mitigate these microvascular issues.
