On almost everything – fraud, polarisation, radicalisation, misinformation – evidence suggests that over 60s are in much more urgent need of online protection and education than teenagers.
But that issue gets zero political attention, and is a total non-starter. Nothing good will come of it.

Tbf it *is* more possible in the UK than pretty much anywhere else given the degree of age polarisation in the UK approaches racial polarisation in the US. If you happen to have (rare) left wing older relatives, that might be your one link to the right cut off

Everyone wants to blame the content: misinformation, bots, polarisation. That mistakes catalysts and symptoms for the underlying causes. The crisis isn’t bad information, it's that the very information infrastructure we relied on to create a shared understand of the world had changed completely.
