for those starting T as a primary hormone there’s the risk of polycythemia but you can get regular blood tests every few months privately or from a cheaper source (where available obvs) in your first year and find out for yourself, and watch out for symptoms

Waiting for the doctor to confirm, but I got the results back from my bloodwork, and it looks like I don't have the JAK2 mutation, which means it shouldn't be polycythemia vera (blood cancer). Probably secondary polycythemia (lose weight).
The better of the 2 outcomes I would say.

Critical aspect of the 2nd week is whether our organs, blood vessels, heart, kidneys, lungs make it through the covid cycle. In my case, stage 3 kidney disease, artificial heart valve, pacemaker, polycythemia. Covid attacks organ & vascular cells. It consumes all of our energy. Save it for healing.

If the corpse suffers from a blood disorder such as anemia or polycythemia the pooling can be unreliable as an indicator of time of death. Anemic corpses have low hemoglobin which leads to less discoloration while polycythemic deceased are the reverse and have much faster coagulation.

Doc specifically cited the risk of blood clots so I looked up treatment for polycythemia vera in cis men which this can mimic
1) None of the treatments are "put them on a testosterone blocker
2) for clot risk, it's "go for walks and take low dose aspirin" not "go on spironolactone"

Yep, doc replied to my message and wants to adjust my testosterone vice eg putting me on low dose aspirin. I hate this. If this first response to cis men isn't "let's put you on a testosterone blocker" then fucking with a trans man's hormones shouldn't be first line treatment either.
