#ProSocial
Once again, as someone who revels in the suffering of my inferiors, today is truly a red letter day for prosocial sadists everywhere.

Definitely a prosocial technology I see no potential downsides of widespread adoption and use of. 😬
“As it stands, if people don’t like what they hear, they can simply turn something off; the system outlined by Microsoft describes an environment where people can instead adjust someone else’s speech to their personal taste.”

Microsoft just filed a patent for an AI product that would be able to transform live video in real time to alter speakers' words and faces.

good for her, I think it's good when people get rich doing prosocial things and bad when people get rich doing antisocial things

The bench is now gone.

Prosocial behaviour is easy to ban and crack down on - those doing it are in the open in their community.

And perversely, antisocial behaviour becomes more likely when you do so because public spaces become somewhere to flee.
I want to know what the council means by "antisocial behaviour," here, because I've got a shiny 50p that says it's teenagers sitting on the bench and chatting.

There's a naive optimism which is simultaneously cringeworthy and prosocial, like a cartoon tooth that's telling you to floss. Mr. Molar is right

Thank you for this prompt! I am dreaming about financial consequences that could be used as reparations to most-impacted communities. I ❤️ the idea of prosocial consequences. Trump, Miller, Musk, permanently barred from public life&paying my immigrant neighbors' rents and trans neighbors' HRT costs.

Sometimes I leave the house without earbuds because it seems like a prosocial thing to do but I am just listening to AG Cook's cover of Animals in my head scrubbing around verse 4 (queen dies in her sleep)

More reason to pay attention to prosocial design on social gaming platforms. New study suggests that's where a quarter of young people are getting their news:

Either you become The Jazz Guy, The Guy Weirdly Into 300yr Old Jazz Music, Fit For Starfleet, or you live in a narcotising existential gooncave. The show follows the first kind of guy, but also maybe the federation is just the kind of society that is good at finding ppl prosocial Special Interests

Forced, mandated reducation on prosocial & community driven behavior or prison for life.

Every politician known or found to be colluding with the GOP should be considered an active threat to national security as the stocastic terrorists they are & treated as such.

White supremecy MUST be outlawed.

How do you help kids think through complex social issues like inequality? You tell them true stories, let them reflect, and offer them a chance to contribute to positive change. @srcdorg.bsky.social #devpsyc #socialpsyc

yeah I can see this. i look at where the people who control capital are ideologically and how they seem to understand themselves in the world, and it's very hard for me to see equilibrium prosocial behavior from a supplicant. this too is a kind of blob

Brazilians was essentially doing it collectively so people could keep each other on track, create collective joy and be strategic to game the algo but also harness the social dynamics of shunning/people wanting to be involved in the popular thing for prosocial ends. I'm decidedly not in the "I don't know how to tell you you should care about other people" camp. It's defeatist bullshit. There are budgetary/quantitative arguments for so many prosocial positions, and it's okay to use them.

And even at the extremes, the best person ever has had bad days and the worst person ever has had the occasional prosocial impulse, they may even have acted on it!

Neither negates the broader patterns of their choices.

I mean these are IDW/Dork Enlightenment types, so they’re less blatantly about shitposting and like to think of themselves as real intellectuals. But essentially the “I’m an iconoclast because I think being prosocial is for losers” attitude is still there under the 5 dollar words and academic wank.
