For #FossilFriday here’s the holotype partial skull of the procolophonid Hwiccewyrm, which we described last year from the Late Triassic of SW England. Named for the ancient kingdom of Hwicce and the Old English for dragon. More procolophonid material from the same site coming soon!

Threordatoth is the second procolophonid that we’ve named recently from Cromhall Quarry in Gloucestershire - the other was Hwiccewyrm, which we described in 2023. The two taxa seem closely related but with quite distinct dentitions.
