Bingo update: #ProjectRolfmi figured out!

Meaning I now know it will be a Hack and Slash game with visual novel -style storytelling. :)

And as a bonus, I also finished the outline for the main story!

Now I just gotta make the GDD and heal up my arm so I can start working on a prototype. >:o

Task Bingo: #ProjectRolfmi

Figured this could be a fun way to track project progress! :D

Absolutely massive tasks so this will take a long time. Although I already did finish one task last month... :)
A bingo card filled with tasks needed to finish my game project, Project Rolfmi. The card is coloured in the main characters' colours, red and blue, and has the two characters' headshots at the top. The tasks are split into code tasks, writing tasks, Sound and extras tasks, Character art tasks and other art tasks. Once all bingo squares are filled, the game should be very close to done! This will take a long while. To the right we have two illustrations from the story. One featuring game's two lead characters, Rolf the mercenary and Kven the nobleman. Rolf is a scruffy-bearded man with brown skin and long, unevenly cut black hair, while Kven is a well-dressed man with icy dragon horns and matching hair and clothes. Kven holds Rolf's face, pleading him to look Kven in the eyes. The second illustration is a comic panel where Rolf and Kven examine a carved stone relief hidden deep in a dark cave. Rolf asks Kven something while Kven stares at the statue, stunned.

❈ Rolfmi seeks to find his father who ran off with a cult.

❈ They must work together to each find what they need.

❈ But time is finite. How much longer can they afford to spend on this search?

One is a comic panel where Rolf the mercenary approached Kven the nobleman when Kven studies a large stone relief in a cave. Kven looks worried. The second image is a mock-up for the game's art style. The characters are drawn in a pixel chibi style and explore a painterly cave with carvings of hands on the walls. Glowing water monsters approach Rolf and Kven while Rolf strikes one with his sword. Third we have Kven holding Rolf's face, pleading him to look Kven in the eyes. It seems this is urgent but Rolf doesn't understand why.

A funny thing... #ProjectRolfmi

Made a "project bingo card" in April.
Just need Two Tiny Chibis for the project thread.

But can't draw currently.
Can only walk in circles and occasionally sit down for 2 minutes to type.

And now I've finished the outline for that story, scoring a bingo square... 😂

Been working on #ProjectRolfmi lately so I could practice making a more simple action game and accidentally realized what was bothering me about #ProjectDevon 's art style...

I just needed to make them more chibi...

Now I'll have to readjust the scale of everything in Project Devon, RIP. 😂
Two character sprites side-by-side. On the left is Rolfmi the mercenary for my hack and slash style game, while on the right we have Devon the doctor and aspiring potionmaker for my eternity project RPG. The sprites are about three heads tall and one pixel of height represents one centimeter. Easy and quite appealing to look at, in my opinion! The older version of Devon's sprite, where he's about three heads tall. In this system 1 and a half pixels represented 1 centimeter of height and it was a nightmare to figure out. This meant I had more space for details but the proportions always felt a bit off to me. Time will tell how the new sprites will look when sitting down with their short lil' legs!

Kven holds Rolf's face urgently, like pleading him to look Kven in the eyes. On the right we have a wall of text: Both started as Pokémon in a DeviantArt Art RPG group. I randomised some words to inspire a story: Discreet, Ceremony, Haircut So Rolfmi got a father who joined a cult and went missing. And a fabulous emo haircut... Tho' I toned that down for the human. I was so captivated by them that I had to have human versions of them and flesh out their story. Which led to the pic on the left... ... followed by a four-page comic... Until I realized this story would work best as a video game.
