完蛋,加州prop40没戏。
所以加州所谓“进步派大本营”实际上纯粹是体量大,比例并不高
It’s not looking good folks

While part of me is still riding the high of last night, there's still a lot to fight for going forward. Despite the blue wave, seeing measures pass in several states that actively target trans people, especially trans youth, is frankly disheartening & disappointing. Not to mention Prop40 failing...

Vote Yes on Prop 40

California, tax the billionaires. Do not listen to their propaganda. It is a one-time 5% wealth tax of state residents whose net worth exceeds $1 billion. Only 255 people in California would pay this tax. Why have you seen so many ads?

Billionaires spent billions to avoid paying a fraction of what they pay in CA taxes, prop40. Then they blew a bunch more money to get more propositions on the ballots to invalidate prop 40, 41, 42, 43.

Waiting for news on the billionaire tax.🤞 #Prop40

“No matter how much they spend on misleading advertising, we will demand that the oligarchs pay their fair share.”

Did you know that government contractors are currently banned from making campaign contributions?

But the law doesn’t cover the executive officers or major shareholders of government contractors.

Call it the Elon Musk loophole.

Here's how we can close it.

The billionaires know their threat to leave CA if #Prop40 passes "is total propaganda,” Rep. @rokhanna.bsky.social told @michaelmechanic.bsky.social.

“The AI revolution is happening in the Bay Area—it’s not happening in Miami or Austin...They simply believe they’re entitled to this wealth."
California billionaires may well prevail in their quest to block a state wealth tax
They're spending a fortune to spread fear about Prop. 40 and push countermeasures—with help from Gov. Gavin Newsom.

He'll pay 0.095% of his wealth. If you've somehow managed to save up $100K, that's the equivalent of a one-time payment of $95. Most people pay that or more each month for their phone service. And, to be clear, someone with only $100K would pay nothing if Prop40 passes. #YesOn40 #NoOn41 #NoOn42

Voting YES on #Prop40 was real JOY.

#TaxBillioniares
Remember...

Prop 40 is a ONE-TIME retroactive tax.

It applies ONLY to billionaires and would tax just 5% of their wealth — which grew 30% in 2025.

California's billionaires would still be worth $2T+ AFTER the tax.

The revenue will fund healthcare for millions of Californians.

Vote YES.

@gabrielzucman.bsky.social explains what’s at stake: people vs the oligarchy.
California citizens decide on November 3.

Progressive taxation is the just and logical choice in our topsy-turvy world.

#California #Prop40 #Midterms #Election #USA #Oligarchy
California's billionaires are flooding the airwaves with propaganda and pulling every dirty trick in the book to avoid paying their fair share in taxes.

Don't be fooled.

Vote YES on Prop 40 and NO on Props 41 and 42.

If #Prop40 passes, he's going to have to pay for 2026 anyway. Dumbass.

Ahem! Acemoglu is one of 6 Nobel Prize economists who signed a letter in support of California's billionaire wealth tax (Prop 40), along with Krugman & Stiglitz.
So more than a bit odd to run this story now!

“If Sacramento fails to deliver a real solution to the healthcare crisis… California’s healthcare workers intend to be back on the ballot in 2028… That’s not a hypothetical. That is our plan.”

What I told reporters tonight on Prop 40.

The Prop40 loss is a bummer, but rejecting this one is huge.
RESULT: Californians have rejected a constitutional amendment that would have imposed voter ID requirements.  The measure was a priority for conservative organizers and Republican donors.
