Good, and tell weirdo Petee to stop checking men’s testosterone levels. What a waste of time & money on this medical quackery.

Reporting from notorious Australian naturopath Barbara O’Neill’s seminar in Glasgow | Sean Slater

Banned from speaking in her home country of Australia, naturopath Barbara O'Neill recently toured the UK with a slightly toned-down version of her quackery.

Oh boy, 21-minute recorded lecture on oxidative stress. This professor is a physician. Color me a little bit nervous. Oxidative stress is definitely real, but there's also a lot of quackery around it.

Jenny certainly is down the medical quackery hole & I have no doubt she pays these ‘Docs’ handsomely. 🥹

This form of social violence (ostracism is a form of violence, as is telling a sick person that they are not or that they should heal themselves by diet, religion, exercise or whatever quackery is sold) can be the final nail in the coffin when you're already fighting to survive.

One of the fascinating things about nineteenth-century newspapers is how many people there were punting systems for this and that, in the extensive zone where self-improvement, fringe science and outright quackery overlapped.

In some ways it's quite a familiar information environment.

Chiropractic adjustments are NOT medical treatment! You'd be far better off going to a licensed therapeutic massage therapist or learning some exercises for your back from a licensed physical therapist. "Back cracking" is quackery & can seriously fuck you up.
Chiropractic adjustments can cause strokes in otherwise healthy individuals.

On a personal note, a family member had a chiropractic adjustment and it took a back injury from "not great" to "requiring surgery". They were disabled for years.

This story is a good example of why I'm so critical of all of the alternative medicine quackery around long covid, and the way covid conscious types keep promoting that quackery. This guy who keeps killing patients is selling his quackery as a cure for long covid and ME/CFS, and it's not harmless.

In Switzerland, Thomas Rau offers treatments that many conventional doctors would question. Now he’s accused of lethally negligent care.

Toxic mold pseudoscience is similar to chronic Lyme quackery but can be more harmful.

Victims of this quackery (a subset of integrative/functional quackery) become convinced that their homes are harming them. They may tear apart their homes or become homeless.

Me, having traveled to Europe: "I have had to learn how to say "gluten-free" in five languages. Your move."

That particular bit of dangerous quackery really annoys me.

(There is also the related contingent who pretend that whatever other variety of wheat magically has no gluten, when they all do.)

Still wanna see the original post but man is this summary of it disturbing.

AI luddite deadenders are literally gonna get themselves hurt with this purist quackery. Think about what happens when they start trying to un-AI code in home appliances or whatever.
