It wasn't happening on rc7 and it failed twice so far today with `page fault (src_id:0 ring:24 vmid:7 pasid:n)` on two different processes when I was doing nothing special. If it's a bad release for amd it won't be the first time. Or it could be my gpu […]

TL;DR A researcher published a proof-of-concept exploit for a Linux kernel AF_PACKET race condition. The flaw enables local privilege escalation from an ordinary user to root. Upstream fixed it in commit 03390aa, first included in the 7.2-rc7 tag. No CVE identifier has been assigned yet, so this report tracks the bug by its fix commit. Tracking ID: CVE Pending / TBA.
