Watching Vision quest really nail Wanda even though she's not in the show just reminds me of how bad multiverse of madness is but I have a feeling they're gonna retcon like 90% of it so that Wanda was completely under the control of the darkhold or doctor doom meddling or some shit

Chromie is fine with it and doesn’t bring it up because she knows they’re just gonna retcon the quest in wrath anyway

Chromie is fine with it and doesn’t bring it up because she knows they’re just gonna retcon the quest in wrath anyway
as of stormblood, she hasn't lost anyone yet, and i am VERY tempted to retcon the parts of the werlyt quest line that make it end in a tragedy (even though it's a tragedy that burrowed deeply enough in my brain that it compelled me to keep writing werlyt OCs)

Sometimes I forget about that Jonny Quest-style episode where they fight a giant stone monster in a Mayan temple because Alien Force and onwards had the gall to retcon Gwen's ability to cast magic into actually being a result of alien heritage. The reasoning for everything became nothing but aliens!

I get why they didn't — too many branching paths that barely get seen, easier to just write some codex text & dismiss it — but I'm still annoyed at how little they've justified their retcons over the years when player choices don't align

Honestly, the monumental retcon quest that's been undertaken to make TROS make even a lick of sense has been an incredibly fascinating writing challenge that an obscene amount of money has been dumped into, and I've been having a lot of fun with the results.

Aside from leaving Zenos without a final fight and not doing the Werlyt quests for Gaius (her friend Ogmund did instead) there's really not all that much divergence!

I feel like there was an attempt to retcon in K's hangout quest (which I gotta admit soured it a bit for me no matter how much I like K himself. Im really not fond of retcons), cz iirc that's the one that suddenly interchanged yifu w yangfu so now it's causing all this confusion

And the retcon of that child NPC who was near-identical to a young Ratio getting changed to be entirely unrecognizable.
There's no way all of that wasn't intentional. They're Mandela Effecting us as we speak. Why would Ratio's model be anywhere near Amphoreus? Why would a 1.6 quest get tweaked?

so even tho Shonna does the first dungeon as a thm, I do think she stops officially learning as one past the lv 10 quest, once she's given leave to learn new professions. UNLESS I retcon her doing the first dungeon as a thm we'll see.
